This 850-year-old Gothic cathedral and its ancient craftsmanship
inspired me greatly to make gold crosses.

This wall carved in the 14th century illustrates scenes
from the life of Christ. Below are photos of all the sculptures
in order of their presentation.

Note : For the purpose of helping to understand the meaning
of the sculptures, some of the relevant scripture text are
quoted from the Holy Bible of the King James Version (1769).

Luke (King James Version) Chapter 1

In the uprising of June 1848, the Archbishop of Paris, Denis-Auguste Affré,
made his way to the barricades to try to persuade the mob and the security forces
to settle for a peaceful settlement. However, he was killed by a stray bullet.

A memorial statue of Archbishop Affre is placed on the right wall under this window, with
inscription, "Puisse mon sang être le dernier versé,"( May my blood be the last that is shed).
